Delayed flight…
Labuan to Kota Kinabalu
We’re done our site job and reached Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan Airport at around 4.00pm. My colleagues’ flight would be at 6.30pm and mine at 7.45pm. It’s the night before weekend and flight seats are really selling fast, so we didn’t get the same flight to get back to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
We reached at the airport and we immediately find a table at McDonalds for evening tea break. We McChicken and tea. I even get a takeaway of a 2nd McChicken in case I got hungry again at dinner time, which usually is at 7.30pm.
So we decided to print our tickets at the Luggage and Check-in area. And we found out our flight both had been extended. My friend’s departure time was extended to 9.05pm whereas mine was extended to 8.20pm. My friend was suppose to board 1st, but now mine was earlier than his. We had a little laugh about it and joke about, and also my friend was lucky to get a free takeaway at McDonalds, as compensation for the very long delay.
So I waited and waited, while watching some TikTok, watching Suits and writing this. It’s 7.30pm. I bid adieu to my friend and I went up to the boarding area.
Before getting in, we have to go through security check and immigration check (no photos for this as it is prohibited to take any at all). After all this while I never got stop on any checks, but this time, I got caught, with a scissor in my bag. I TOTALLY forgot about it. I brought it to Labuan last time via speed boat and left it at my friend’s car, and I planned to bring it back on this trip. Well unfortunately they had to confiscate it. I agree and being cooperative at all times and I proceed to immigration check and went through it smoothly.
So here we are, waiting for boarding time. And I hoped that we really be boarding the plane on 8.20pm sharp. Anything could happen!
And it finally happens… we boarded the plane!
I sat quite further in front. Knowing that I won’t be one of those early to disembark, I just wanted to get as far as possible from the middle part of the plane. Those areas are the nosiest as the engines are just outside the windows.
A short safety briefing and we take off to Kota Kinabalu.
About 10 minutes after take off, the pilot announced where we at and how high are we above sea levels. I can’t remember what was said as I was really sleepy at that time.
Around 9.10pm we reached Kota Kinabalu International Airport. I disembarked and immediately enter the airport. As we arrived we have to have our immigration checked again before leaving the airport.
And the distance to the Immigration Counter is really, really far from the door we entered after getting off the plane.
I walk pass a moving walkway, unfortunately it is not on. Guess they tuned it off for the night.
Once my immigration checks are done, it is time to go outside, and get my ride home.
I waited for my ride at Gate 4 exit. I was welcomed by some beautiful musics played by a busker. The atmosphere is beautiful accompanied with popular local hits played by him.
Soon, my ride arrives. I gave the busker some tip, and then I took my ride home.
